About Hawaii

Hawaiian Islands

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Hawaiian Islands, once known as the Sandwich Islands, form an archipelago of nineteen islands and atolls, numerous smaller islets, and undersea seamounts trending northwest by southeast in the North Pacific Ocean between latitudes 19° N and 29° N. The archipelago takes its name from the largest island in the group and extends some 1500 miles (2400 km) from the Island of Hawaiʻi in the south to northernmost Kure Atoll. Excluding Midway, which is an unincorporated territory of the United States, the Hawaiian Islands form the U.S. State of Hawaiʻi.

The State of Hawaii
Consists of six main islands; Hawai‘i (the Big Island), Maui, Molokai, Lana‘i, Oahu, and Kauai. Oahu, appropriately called the gathering place, is the location of the State capitol, Honolulu, and most of the State's population. Although I specialize in homes in Oahu's neighborhoods, please contact me if you are looking for property on one of our beautiful neighbor islands, and I will be sure to match you with an agent that is as knowledgeable and experienced as I in your search area.

Oahu Neighborhoods and Communities
Click here to go to a map of Oahu, then click on map for a general description of the community.  Each area of each island consists of several neighborhoods with differing criteria.  Hawaii is very different from the mainland as we have limited land, smaller lots and houses, and a melting pot of cultures.  Let me help you find the right home for you and your family.
